The Music of Potting

John and Darlene Williams, who own and run Trinity Ceramic Supply in Dallas, have a long and colorful history of supporting potters across Texas and the USA, not only with the products of their firm, but also with moral support and help beyond in ways to numerous to mention here.

Beginning with the 2005 NCECA conference, they began distributing the Trinity Ceramics and Potter's tools catalogue on a CD and, being thrifty, they couldn't let all of that extra space on the CDRom disk go to waste, so they produced and recorded David Hendley's song bemoaning the compromises which potter's must make to succeed in selling enough of their work to enable them to continue potting rather than getting a "real job"

This year, at the 2006 NCECA conference, it was Billy Ray Mangum's turn to join David and the Extrudinares on the Trinity Catalogue CD with even more songs that most, if not all, potters will understand and enjoy.

Even if you don't know what it's like to work on a potter's wheel, Billy's "Blessing of the Pork" should have universal appeal.
