Biography
After fifteen years
as a production potter, Eric Jackson teaches pottery and,
during the day, raises two young children. Eric and
Roxanne Jackson, and their daughters, live in Buda, Texas,
where he runs Texas Medicine Pottery (www.texasmedicinepottery.com).
Artist Statement I make functional pots that showcase
surfaces made beautiful through the effects of natural
processes. I want my pots to be useful, and affordable
to folks such as myself. I use the classic glazes of
ceramic history: celadons, copper reds, temmokus, and
shinos, but I do not feel bound to any tradition. I
base my designs around red and white shino glazes, and
then trust the kiln's fire and its effect on these glazes.
