Artist Statement

I make functional pots that showcase surfaces made beautiful through the effects of natural processes. I want my pots to be useful, and affordable to folks such as myself. I use the classic glazes of ceramic history: celadons, copper reds, temmokus, and shinos, but I do not feel bound to any tradition. I base my designs around red and white shino glazes, and then trust the kiln's fire and its effect on these glazes.
